4.5 Months in Our New Home

Time just flies!
I seriously cannot believe all the blank walls and undecorated areas.....Wonder if I will have it put together by this time next year? lol

Anyhoo....here are photos I took yesterday.....

I love my home....SO much!  For being our 15th home and never having built before, I am kicking myself.  I am now a believer in building just what you want and in your preferred budget.  That, of course, is the key.

Love my Yellow River Granite....so so happy every time I walk in the kitchen or bathrooms where we put it.

So much on our list.......but I guess we have plenty of time.  This is our 15th and LAST house!  Ha!

Decorating the Dining Areas

Time is just flying......can't believe I haven't gotten photos on here yet....

Accessorizing and staging is going slow........very slow......so all I have to show is the physical tables......still need rugs, wall decor, etc.   I have decided I am only going to purchase what I desperately LOVE and nothing else...so if it takes me 3 years to put the house together, so be it.  lol

Formal Dining Room:

This room is a work in progress....EngineerHubby cannot decide what he does and does not like (notice normally the wife decides these things????)....so we are in limbo....the table in this photo is going back....the buffet that was finally delivered has problems...several cracks.....going to be repaired/replaced...but his beloved chairs are here....long story......

The light fixture is a dramatic improvement over the light bulb that hung from the ceiling for the last few months!!  Another Joss & Main purchase, I couldn't be happier with my 'regularly $1200 light for $299"....it blends nicely with the other lighting in the foyer and breakfast nook.

Breakfast Nook:

These tables come from the same furniture family.....all purchased because of these chairs......EngineerHubby just LOVES LOVES LOVES the way these chairs feel when sitting in them and NOTHING else would do.

Home Decorating - Rug and Mirror

I just wrote about the new light for the island.  Well, on Sunday (2 days ago!!!), I found the perfect rug for our great room.  It is already here.  On TUESDAY.    For $9.95 shipping.  Really???  Wow!

The "Pantone" colors in this rug are pewter, feather gray and dove gray.  Size is 9 X 13 and GORGEOUS.  Surya Art Studio...it is 100% New Zealand Wood, hand-tufted.    I am loving Joss and Main - the prices are incredible if you are patient....I paid less than half of the price at THIS website.

Same day - a gorgeous mirror my mom ordered me for the powder room.  LOVE IT!!  I had asked the builder to let me buy a mirror....and didn't realize that wasn't as easy as it sounded.  But when I saw this mirror at JC Penney, I knew it was the one.

 We updated to comfort height toilets all over the house.

Also asked for a different pedestal sink than normally used.  Love the clean lines.

Thursday, our formal dining room, coffee table and a credenza are being delivered.  I'm not posting photos of our new living room right now as there is still much to be done with accessorizing.  But we love it!

New Varaluz Island Light - Joss & Main

I thought I knew the light I wanted and loved loved loved it.   Thankfully, I decided to wait until we moved in until buying it....and I'm glad I did.  I think it would have been overwhelming......

So last week when I was stalking my online boutique sales (My new favorite being Joss & Main since it is mostly things for the home), I saw a Varaluz Lighting sale.  I had ran across Varaluz a few months ago... recycled sustainable handmade lighting, and couldn't believe my eyes!!

I quickly opened up the sale and saw the Varaluz Flair collection lights and purchased this one for $356.....regularly $1200+!!!!  We have a 5 foot island and I really struggled on what size to get.  Went with the 36" and it is PERFECT!

It got here in 4-5 days, which was amazing and while at work yesterday, EngineerHubby got it hung.  We are SO thrilled!!!  It goes with the "flow" of the granite, the glowy amber color at night....ahhhhhhh....
