Well, I've had this piece of furniture I've been literally drooling over for a year........dreaming of the day

Well......was I super thrilled the day I opened up my daily Joss & Main email to see THAT piece of furniture........over 60% off!!!!!!!!!  AMAZING find!!!!

I am anxiously waiting for it to be delivered...white glove style........it is 108 inches long and is going on my great room TV wall, under the TV and I cannot even express my excitement.

If you are looking for things for your home, you are doing yourself a disservice by not even investigating Joss & Main!!!  Wowza!!!

Evolution of a Shoe Dream

Sometimes when life gives you lemons, you don't have to give up on dreams...just adjust them.   :)))

Once upon a time, I dreamed about these shoes:

And while these were super comfy and gorgeous....I was holding on to something to balance...so...not the most practical of choices considering I only have sensation in half of my feet!

The other day at SteinMart, I saw these and fell in love.....and bonus??  They are super comfy and "safe"!!!

Made by Moda Reflex by Le Chateau, they also came in a brown leopard, but I held myself back....for now!  lol  They were brand new and almost gone...when I saw one more size 8, I snapped it up!

I have some super cute and colorful ankle pants from The Limited and these look great together!

Dining Room - Perfect Table

Oh, the drama of the dining room......

We finally got the correct table delivered...and guess what....it has a problem too.....so I am not kidding....we have had 4-5 deliveries and are still waiting.....last Saturday....the furniture company came again.....and guess what?  No table on the truck.  It is getting ridiculous!!

Good news....Haverty's is making it RIGHT.  Just a lot of bumps along the way.  The problem with this particular table is some divets on one end....and they consider that a replaceable event.

So while we wait...here are the most recent photos, along with my mother-in-law's china.......so pretty!

Let me tell you....we are LOVING these hand-scraped floors.....see the texture?  Doesn't show dog dribble, no scratch marks....nothing...and such a gorgeous warm color!

Decorating the Dining Areas

Time is just flying......can't believe I haven't gotten photos on here yet....

Accessorizing and staging is going slow........very slow......so all I have to show is the physical tables......still need rugs, wall decor, etc.   I have decided I am only going to purchase what I desperately LOVE and nothing else...so if it takes me 3 years to put the house together, so be it.  lol

Formal Dining Room:

This room is a work in progress....EngineerHubby cannot decide what he does and does not like (notice normally the wife decides these things????)....so we are in limbo....the table in this photo is going back....the buffet that was finally delivered has problems...several cracks.....going to be repaired/replaced...but his beloved chairs are here....long story......

The light fixture is a dramatic improvement over the light bulb that hung from the ceiling for the last few months!!  Another Joss & Main purchase, I couldn't be happier with my 'regularly $1200 light for $299"....it blends nicely with the other lighting in the foyer and breakfast nook.

These tables come from the same furniture family.....all purchased because of these chairs......EngineerHubby just LOVES LOVES LOVES the way these chairs feel when sitting in them and NOTHING else would do.

Promo Codes - How and Why to Use

It all started when I got tired of worrying if my favorite black pants were clean and ready to wear.  That answer was almost always "NO" because I only had one pair AND I loved them so was always wearing them.  Sigh....


Having searched far and wide previously with no luck, I admit I didn't have much hope.  However, today was different.  I found 3 other pairs in my size!  Don't you love when that happens?!!

When the sales total was $109, I thought....Really?  Should I do this?? (and then I remembered I sold 2 houses yesterday with 2 more probably writing this week and I reminded myself....what black pants will I wear if I don't buy these?????)

And THEN......I remembered..........

I immediately opened up a separate window (leaving my shopping cart open in another) and typed in:

"Name of store" and then "promo code". 

Quite a few results pulled up, so I looked for the one that had the highest reported success rate AND had the most RECENT successful use.  The best one said:

$15 off for every $50 spent and free shipping. 

I went back to my online purchase and in the promo code/coupon box, typed the code the other side told me to...and voila'!   My total was $109...now it was $79.

Do you remember to search promo codes when you shop online?  Have you had success?  BTW, I went back to the RetailMeNot page and entered my experience anonymously...so now it says that code was successfully used 30 minutes ago!  lol

And best of all, I don't have to go out and actually shop!  Woo Hoo!!

Home Decorating - Rug and Mirror

I just wrote about the new light for the island.  Well, on Sunday (2 days ago!!!), I found the perfect rug for our great room.  It is already here.  On TUESDAY.    For $9.95 shipping.  Really???  Wow!

The "Pantone" colors in this rug are pewter, feather gray and dove gray.  Size is 9 X 13 and GORGEOUS.  Surya Art Studio...it is 100% New Zealand Wood, hand-tufted.    I am loving Joss and Main - the prices are incredible if you are patient....I paid less than half of the price at THIS website.

Same day - a gorgeous mirror my mom ordered me for the powder room.  LOVE IT!!  I had asked the builder to let me buy a mirror....and didn't realize that wasn't as easy as it sounded.  But when I saw this mirror at JC Penney, I knew it was the one.

 We updated to comfort height toilets all over the house.

Also asked for a different pedestal sink than normally used.  Love the clean lines.

Thursday, our formal dining room, coffee table and a credenza are being delivered.  I'm not posting photos of our new living room right now as there is still much to be done with accessorizing.  But we love it!

New Varaluz Island Light - Joss & Main

I thought I knew the light I wanted and loved loved loved it.   Thankfully, I decided to wait until we moved in until buying it....and I'm glad I did.  I think it would have been overwhelming......

So last week when I was stalking my online boutique sales (My new favorite being Joss & Main since it is mostly things for the home), I saw a Varaluz Lighting sale.  I had ran across Varaluz a few months ago... recycled sustainable handmade lighting, and couldn't believe my eyes!!

I quickly opened up the sale and saw the Varaluz Flair collection lights and purchased this one for $356.....regularly $1200+!!!!  We have a 5 foot island and I really struggled on what size to get.  Went with the 36" and it is PERFECT!

It got here in 4-5 days, which was amazing and while at work yesterday, EngineerHubby got it hung.  We are SO thrilled!!!  It goes with the "flow" of the granite, the glowy amber color at night....ahhhhhhh....
